HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!Well, as you can tell, I haven't been posting everyday like I had intended to do, but hopefully I will be better in the future.
I had my surgery on February 27th and everything went well. I had to be at the hospital at 6:00am and I was out by 10:30am. My surgery took less than an hour...the rest of the time was pre and post op stuff. I was really sore the first several days after. I had a herniated bellybutton that the doctor fixed and that is what was the worst. For the first 2 or 3 days, I couldn't stand up straight. You don't realize what muscles you use to stand up until they have been messed with. I am so glad that my mom and grandmother were here to help with Jake....it is hard to feed a squirmy 3 month old when you are sore all over your belly. I would try to just hold him and he would start hitting my belly and I had to give him back to whoever was willing to take him....let me tell you, I had to twist their arm! :) Harry and Chris (Josh's parents) came to visit and help out too. They babysat for us while we went to the Houston Rodeo. It was our first time to go to this rodeo and we had a great time. We had great seats thanks to LAN (the company I work for) and saw the rodeo part and then Trace Adkins. We aren't big fans of his, but we stayed and listened to a few of his songs. Josh was laughing at me because I knew some of the words.....I know them from listening to the country radio stations. Trace Adkins has one of the deepest voices I have ever heard.
Jake is 4 months old now and doing great. He is cooing and babbling and loves to smile. We have heard him laugh once or twice, but are waiting for him to really learn how to do it. He will go to the doctor next week for his 4 month shots. I will be asking the doctor about giving him some rice cereal since he wants to eat every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. He does sleep for about 6 or 7 hours at a time at night, but he goes to bed so early that half of those hours are when I am cooking dinner and getting things done around the house. Jake also spits up and I read that cereal can sometimes help with that. If you have any thoughts, comments, suggestions on this, please feel free to comment or send me an email.
Hope everyone has a great St. Patrick's Day!
